Itβs a great opportunity to challenge yourself, gain experience, and connect with the chess community. All players are welcome, with free entry for girls and low-income families. Note the new format for the Open section.

Free game analysis with National Master Austin Tang and Chess A2Z volunteer coaches. Adult players can play in the open section only. Lunch: Free Pizza for the players. US Chess Membership: All players must have a current US Chess membership. You may purchase one directly at (www.uschess.org) If you prefer, we are happy to assist. Photo Release: Chess A2Z may photograph or record portions of the tournament to celebrate our players and share highlights with our community. 2027 OSCF State Championship qualifier
Date: Sep 19th 2026 (Saturday)
Check-In: 9:45am β 10:15am for U1000, U700 and U400. Players who miss the check-in window will not be paired for Round 1.
Players in the Open section do not need to check in.

Open section (G/45 d5, 4-round Swiss): 9:30am, 11:20am, 1:10pm, 3:00pm
U1000, U700, U400 (G/25 +5, 4-round Swiss): 10:30am, 11:40am, 1:00pm, 2:00pm
Awards for U1000, U700 and U400: 3:15pm
Awards for Open: 4:40pm

Open Section: Cash prizes for the top three finishers (1st: $70, 2nd: $50, 3rd: $30); winners may choose a trophy instead. Medals for plus or even scores. If there are more than 24 players, the Open Section will be split into two sections, with adjusted prizes of 50/30/$20 in each section.
U1000, U700, U400: Trophies for the top 5 finishers. Medals for players with plus or even scores.
