Schedule Info : Dec 11, 12 and 18th for lectures from 8:30AM - 12:30PM (PST, Seattle Time). Total 12 hours of lecture. Dec 19th is the test day.

Description : With effect from January 15th 2012, there will be no more direct application for the title of International Organizer. All candidates shall be required to attend and pass an examination in the Seminar for Organizers. The awarding of the title through exams should be combined with some minimum experience.


The title of FIDE International Organizer (FIDE IO) has the following benefits:
β€’ FIDE licensing and international recognition as Chess Organiser
β€’ Fair Knowledge of regulations for FIDE rated Chess Events World and Continental Championships.
β€’ IO can sign FIDE Arbiter (FA) /International Arbiter norms
β€’ Only a FIDE IO can sign a bid for a World Chess Championship.
β€’ Only licensed trainers and holders of the International Organizer title, as applicable to the official FIDE event, or those with a captaincy license and Federation Officials given special permission, are allowed access to the official playing venue, and playing area (as per the tournament regulations) and be entitled to free board & lodging (where offered by the organizers). *New rule valid from 1st July 2021 for world and continental Championships.
β€’ Future benefits on discussion: Only International Organiser will be able to organize FIDE titled tournaments (tournaments with norms).

FIDE Lecturer Tsorbatzoglou, Theodoros will give 12 hours of lecture on Dec 11, 12 and 18th. Exam will be on Dec 19th. Video will be available for missed sessions.
